Steve Barden heard the Beatles' first performance
on the Ed Sullivan Show and hasn't been the same since. It's no
wonder why the Beatles' music has had such a lasting influence
on Steve's music.
Steve began playing guitar at the age of nine.
He has studied guitar at the Guitar Institute of Technology in
Hollywood, and has studied composition in film scoring at UCLA.
Steve has performed with bands throughout the 70's, 80's, and 90's
until he got tired of lugging equipment around. Now, armed with
a personal recording studio, Steve is able to fulfill his dreams
of writing music and having it performed just as he hears it in
his head.
Steve is a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar,
bass, Dobro, mandolin, ukulele (almost any stringed instrument!),
piano, flute, harmonica, and sings. As a singer-songwriter, Steve
began writing songs in the mid-70's. But as he focused on his guitar
technique, recording skills, and all-around charm, it wasn't until
the 21st century that Steve began to focus on songwriting again.
His first full-length CD of original songs was released in 2007
entitled "Tallulah Lake", a 14 song collection that includes
3 instrumental pieces.
Steve's background in composing, arranging, orchestrating,
and performing most of the instruments on the album has allowed
him to express himself in a way that compliments the deeply personal
songs on the album. Steve is looking forward to sharing his music
with the world.
